first things first... english is not my native language but i'm trying to write a poem for an english friend of mine but i'm not sure if the words i'm using are proper english, help would be very appreciated... thanks in advance...so here's the poem
Once just a dream two people shared offspring of a love declared a magic moment here on earth a miracle for what it's worth a daring truth,a truthful dare
the date was due (to) a dream come true your day of birth a day of mirth for everyone around you.
the year is drawing to an end it's time remembering a friend and celebrate your special day considering you will not stay 'cause who's got so much time to spend.
Wish you colorful flowers sweet chocolate and hours of joy and delight and a future so bright like the sun after showers.

Hi struggle!
I know this is very late and you've probably already given the poem to your friend, but oh well. Better late than never. I really don't think there's much to help you with. It all sounds great to me! The flow is there, the words all make sense - it's fine how it is. And it is a beautiful poem. Obviously heart-felt and, some nice word play, good grammar (well, except for the lack of space after the comma where you wrote "a daring truth,a truthful dare", but that may just be a typo, considering your good grammar throughout the rest of the piece.

Poetry is a form of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language—such as phonaesthetics, sound symbolism, and metre—to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of, the prosaic ostensible meaning.
